Weekend Results!
White Plains Criterium, NY, 9/16:
Edward B, Brian W, Cheryl W and Emily U all went to the White Plains Inaugural Downtown Criterium over the weekend. According to Edward, the was perfect weather, not warm, not cold and the course was a simple rectangle. It was a really fast course too with two descents leading right into 90-degree turns. The roads were in pretty good shape too with only a few bumps and there was a lot of room in the turns. The race organizers did an awesome job with this one!
Edward raced in the cat 3/4 field as a cat 4 (with 44 riders in total) and came in 18th overall and was pretty certain he got 4th out of the 4s. Brian W recommended to him that he stay near the front the whole time, which he was able to do most of the race. He came into the last lap about 10 back, but he was fading and tried to just hold his spot to the end, where he placed 18th overall.
In women’s race, Emily rode strong, went for a couple of primes, and finished 6th overall, while Cheryl finished 10th.
W.S. United Graveyard Series @ Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn, 9/16:
Paul Y raced at FBF over the weekend for the first time and is hooked after taking 4th!
Mid-Atlantic Cross Series, PA, 9/15-9/16:
Blake raced the first two Mid-Atlantic races this weekend, lining up in the highly competitive Men’s 2/3 event. According to him, he didn’t take my own advice and registered late which placed me starting 89th Saturday and 78th Sunday of 125. That’s 4 rows behind the start grid! Blake finished 35th on Saturday and 29th Sunday. Don’t know what could have happened if he started 2nd row like last year… Oh well. He’ll have to wait until next weekend to try his form.
