Panificio Navona & Bethel Cycle Summer Racing Series – Race # 11, 7/25:
Brian W lined up in the P 1-2-3 race on Wednesday night in Bethel. There were 2 racers up the road and Brian finished 6th in the field for 8th overall.
Green & Gold Criterium, 7/28:
The course is a 1-kilometer loop with six corners and a hill. Brian W lined up for his first-ever 55+ race. He was in a break of 4 for 6 laps but was brought back with 7 laps to go. There was a counter attack by a single rider who was a member of that break. He opened up a huge gap. Brian won the field sprint for 2nd and missed winning the race by only 5 inches!
Cheryl W did the women’s open race. They had a lot of primes, which kept it fast and single file for most of the race. Cheryl had good position in the last lap and was able to sprint up the hill to win the bike race!
